Blooming Smiles

Hello there! I hope you had a good weekend. We had snow most of the day Saturday, which is a bit of a rarity here, so it was nice, but cold! I'm always mesmerized watching the snow fall, so I didn't get much done this weekend, but I did manage to make a few cards.

I have step by step photos for this one, but I accidentally turned off the macro setting on my camera, so many are blurry. Sorry about that! All the images are from my most recent stamp set for Gina K Designs, Elegant Florals.

To begin, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury White card stock to 3 3/4 by 5 inches. Then I sponged with Memento Cantaloupe ink, using my Jumbo Sponge Daubers.

Sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Then sponged just a bit at the bottom with Memento Olive Grove.

At the top, I sponged Memento Angel Pink.

Then sponged Memento Grape Jelly.

Using the eucalyptus image, I stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves.

Using another image, I stamped in the upper corning using Memento Grape Jelly. I stamped off on scratch paper before stamping on my scene, to make the image lighter.

Then I stamped the sentiment, using Memento Tuxedo Black.

The narcissus was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, then colored with Copics, starting with Y17.

Then added Y21.

And filled in with Y000.

On the stems, I started with YG97.

I filled in with YG03, then used a blender pen to push in some highlights. After coloring, I cut out the image.

I used Spellbinder™Nestabilities® A2 Matting Basics A to emboss a frame on the background, then layered with Pure Luxury Vibrant Purple. I added a sheer organza bow, using some gorgeous wrinkled edge ribbon that can be found at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I'm about to run out of this ribbon I received a sample of and Sharon, from Stamp Simply, was so kind to order some for me and is now carrying it in the store. Yay! The cut out flowers were adhered using Pop Dots. The 4 ¼ by 5 ½ inch card base is Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

I love the quiet serenity of snow, too - but glad not to have to live in it :) I love this stamp set and just used it for a sympathy card (the lily). I love the gentle transition you made in your background colors & your stamping is always sublime!!!
