Grandfather Clock

Happy Monday Morning! Today's card was for the featured stamper challenge at SCS yesterday. The featured stamper this week is Kissamari and her gallery is filled with gorgeous, fun cards. I chose this card to use for inspiration.

Stampers were to change at least two things on their project. I changed...

Different stamps
Changed sentiment location
Added and moved brads
Added scoring

I used one of the new Gina K stamp sets, Special Father, illustrated by Nina Bracket. Here are the details...

I started by stamping the smaller clock, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored using Copics, starting by using E37 along the right side of each of the two columns.

I added E33 to the left side of the columns, then used the blending pen to pull out some highlights.

Used E57 in the recessed area of the clock and a few detail areas.

I used E37, E33 and the blending pen in the same way as on the columns to fill in some of the remaining areas.

For the inside of the clock, I used E33, then used Y21 on the hanging thingy and little oval. A little C1 on the clock face. Then I cut out the image. After cutting, I added some Crystal Lacquer on the clock face and set it aside to dry while I worked on the background.

Starting with a piece of Gina's new digital paper, Summer Fabrics, I brayered So Saffron and Apricot Appeal ink. I love this new "free" paper. There are three different textures that you can print. After printing and brayering my paper, I used my Scor-pal to create a harlequin pattern, by placing the paper at an angle, backside up, in the Scor-pal. Then I scored every half inch. After scoring across the paper, I rotated it then scored again to create the diamond shapes.

Here is a picture of the front side after scoring. I used my jumbo sponge dauber and lightly sponged Creamy Caramel ink to help bring out the scor lines. I took the photo while I was only partway finished with the sponging, so you could see the how just a little bit of sponging can really make scor lines pop.

For the top panel, I cut a piece of Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock, using my rectangle Nestabilities. Then I sponged some Creamy Caramel while it was still in the die, creating a nice little border.

To finish the card, I created a scalloped rectange from Pure Luxury Chocolate Kiss cardstock, using my Nestabilities. I also used Nestabilities to create a the layers for the sentiment. The horizontal patterened paper band across the middle is from Gina's Rough and Rugged digital paper, and is layered with Chocolate Kiss and Creamy Caramel (SU). The card base is Creamy Caramel.

I wanted to say thanks to Tina and Sharri for giving me a blogging award. These two ladies are wonderfully talented stampers and have beautiful blogs. Thanks, guys!!!

Thank you for visiting me today. I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
